Buses & Boots

ONGOING

This project began as a means of promoting Buxton as a destination for keen walkers and ramblers – whether they are looking for a stroll around heritage landmarks, or a more challenging hike with spectacular views. It has gone on to extend the adventures to bus passengers – and a booklet of activity days out is due to follow soon.

WALKS AROUND BUXTON

Our first walks leaflet forms part of a series of 'Walks Around' the High Peak. The idea was to encourage more visitors to travel to the town by train or bus; to explore lesser-known areas; and to present a variety of interesting routes to anyone who enjoys exploring on foot. To make the project sustainable, leaflets are available for £1 each from the Pump Room TIC – but can also be downloaded free of charge: CLICK HERE

ADVENTURES ON THE 442

Our second leaflet (produced in partnership with High Peak Buses) opens up the surrounding countryside to anyone taking the 442 bus between Buxton and Ashbourne. It offers ideas for different days out, with details of some of the interesting and picturesque villages you can stop off at en route. This can also be downloaded free of charge: CLICK HERE
