Litter Picking Group

ONGOING

Once a month, this group enjoys a walk somewhere in or around the town – taking bags, barrows and litter pickers with them.

The walk usually takes place on the first Sunday of the month and the route depends on where their help is needed most. The length is generally between two to five miles. Rubbish collected along the way is picked up later by High Peak Borough Council. The idea is to encourage a sense of pride, ownership and responsibility for the town and surrounding area and also to create a group with a sense of community and a common goal.

New members are always welcome – it's much more fun that going to the gym!
